Mr Robert Yie-Zu Hu is currently the Lead Researcher (since 2006) and Deputy General Director (since 2003) of Green Energy & Environment Research Labs., Industrial Technology Research Institute. He is the representative speaker of Taiwan Wind Energy Association (TWNWEA). He have a Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago(1989) and a M.S. in Energy Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago (1982).Other than his role in his company, he is also involved in other professional groups (ASHRAE , CSHRAE , Association of Atmosphere Protection in Taiwan , Taiwan Ventilation Equipment Association , The Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers and The Chinese Institute of Engineers).

Wei-Hsien Lu

Mr Wei-Hsien Lu is currently the Senior Engineer of Green Energy & Environment Research Labs., Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). He has a M.S. degree in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering (1994) and received Ph. D. candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering (1998) from University of California at Berkeley. Since joining ITRI in 2000, Mr. Lu has been responsible for assisting the government to promote wind energy utilization in Taiwan, including onshore demonstration projects, wind measurement & resource assessment, and the Offshore Demonstration Incentive Program.

Jong Hoon Lee

Mr Jong-hoon Lee is a Principal Researcher at KETEP (Korea institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning). He has a BA and MS Degree in Electronics engineering at Chungnam National University, Korea and a Ph.D in Management of Technology at Yonsei University, Korea . Mr Lee was also involved in the R&D planning and management of Renewable Energy R&D Program supported by the Government. He was also part of the planning committee of “South-Western Sea 2.5GW Offshore Wind Farm Project” of Korea.

Michael Wang has his master degree for International Management in Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow.

Frédéric Hendrick

In January 2011, Mr Frédéric Hendrick was appointed Vice President Offshore for Alstom Wind. Frédéric Hendrick joined Alstom in 2005 as Vice President of Manufacturing and was in charge of half of Alstom’s rolling stock equipment units. In 2006, he was appointed Vice President for Urban Transit of Alstom’s Transport sector. He was also responsible for the tramways and subways division. In 2008, he became Vice President Marketing for Alstom Transport. Frédéric Hendrick began his career in PSA, having different positions in logistical and industrial divisions during twelve years. In 2000, he joined the Pechiney Group in order to implement the Lean Manufacturing in one of the Packaging division. Then, he was promoted Vice President Manufacturing Europe. He graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de l’Electricité (SUPELEC). Frédéric Hendrick was born in 1965.

Mr Bernard Casey graduated in civil engineering from University College Dublin in Ireland and has a master’s degree in soil mechanics from Imperial College London. Since graduation, he has more than 20 years ‘s experience in the power industry, including onshore wind, most of which was spent with ESB International in both consulting engineer and EPC Contractor roles. He is the Head of Offshore Engineering at Mainstream Renewable Power and responsible for direction of all engineering work on Mainstream’s 5.6GW offshore portfolio.

Lutz Mertschat

Mr Lutz Mertschat received a marine engineering degree from the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg and went on to gain a great deal of practical experience in nautical operations. His first-hand seafaring experience on naval vessels was followed by a spell in the merchant shipping sector as a project manager working for a ship supplier company. Since joining MENCK in 2009, Lutz has been responsible for offshore pile driving solutions in the bridges and harbors and wind farm segments. The experience he has gained in offshore wind farms includes overseeing commissioning of the largest underwater hydraulic hammer ever delivered to the Chinese market. More recently, Lutz has also taken on sales responsibility for MENCK's underwater noise mitigation solutions.

Zen-Jey Guey

Mr Guey Zen-Jey was born in Kaohsiung , Taiwan. He received the B.Sc.Eng. and M.Sc..Eng., degrees in 1982, 1984 respectively in power mechanical engineering from National Tsing hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. He worked in CSIST as a test engineer from 1984 to 1987. Since late 1987 he joined ITRI as an electrical engineer and has been working for different projects on electrical machine control fields. He engaged in wind power conversion technology since 2005, which mainly covers the analysis and design of power converters for the DFIG and the PMSG. He was awarded the honor of the distinguished electrical engineer from CIEE in 2008 and is now the technical officer with Taiwan Wind Energy Association.

Mr Tomofumi (Tommy) Fukuda has been working in Maurbeni Corporation since 1986. He is currently the Deputy General Manager of Domestic Power Project Department. Mr Tommy is also the project integrator of Fukushima Offshore Wind.(Project leader of 11-company consortium of Japanese Government Project). He previously was the President of Marubeni Caribbean Power Holding in year 2007 to 2011.

Mr Ramon Terrones has over 25 years experience of living and working in Asia Pacific. After graduating in aerospace engineering at the Polytechnical University of Madrid, Spain, he went to Japan in 1982 to study Japanese Language & Literature at Osaka University before getting his master’s degree from the engineering school of Tokyo University in March 1985.Based in the new office of Gamesa in Singapore since September 2010, Ramon
Terrones has responsibility for the operations of Gamesa in Asia: Japan to Australia and Bhutan to New Zealand, including all Southeast Asia and the Pacific island countries, with the exception of China and India, where Gamesa has separate business units and production plants covering these markets. In Asia Pacific, Gamesa has wind turbines operating in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, New Zealand and, very soon, in Australia.

Based in Shanghai, China, Mathias has 9 years of experience in the wind turbine industry.  During this time he has performed a wide range of tasks as an expert in charge of structural components of wind turbines including reviews, inspections, expert opinions, failure analysis, technical due diligence, guideline development and technical seminars.

Mr. Ming-Chang Wu is currently Manager of Technical Service for Bureau Veritas, Taiwan. He received a Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture from National Taiwan University and a Master degree in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering from University of California at Berkeley. He joined Bureau Veritas, Taiwan in 1993, as a marine surveyor and auditor for quality system. From 2001 to 2003, he was assigned to BV Head Office at Paris for structural analysis for offshore floating units. Since 2003, he had been assigned to BV China, BV Korea, and BV Philippines for varied managerial and technical positions. He was re-assigned to BV Taiwan from 2008.

Mr Griffin has over 18 years of experience in wind turbine engineering covering a wide range of turbine technology. In addition to his business development role, recent project work includes a detailed assessment of an offshore turbine manufacturing and project development company, and an ongoing feasibility study for a 4 GW offshore wind project on the Korean peninsula.

Working on board level, his experience is in areas of project development, operations, strategic management consulting, M&A and financial management throughout the offshore wind value chain.  Marwind Group has further expertise in business development, facilitating investments and transactions, innovation, and provides technical and other advisory functions in areas of installation, operations and maintenance of offshore wind projects. Marwind’s scope has broadened to other renewable energy sectors. Rob has had a 21 year distinguished career in the Dutch Navy, received a Sloan Fellowship from London Business School with a MSC in Business Administration and Management in 2000, and has a further background in IT/HighTech and corporate venturing.
